Dr. Wilson Joining the University of Michigan Race and Data Justice Lab

I am excited to announce that I have joined Dr. Matthew Bui’s University of Michigan Race and Data Justice Lab as a Research Collaborator. This esteemed lab is dedicated to addressing critical issues at the intersection of race, data, and justice, aligning perfectly with my ongoing commitment to exploring the impacts of technology on communities who experience challenges in accessing resources to create professional and personal success.

In this new role, I will be collaborating with Dr. Bui to advance research that interrogates the ethical dimensions of data use and its implications for justice. Our work will focus on developing robust frameworks and innovative solutions to ensure that data technologies empower rather than marginalize individuals and communities.

One of the key projects I will be contributing to involves the empowerment and amplification of voices through the use of cloud technology. This study aims to understand how cloud-based systems can aid in the personal and professional lives of Black and minority individuals, exploring perceptions of power, data ethics, and access to advanced technology. By delving into these areas, we hope to uncover strategies for creating more equitable and impactful tech environments.

My involvement with the Race and Data Justice Lab represents an exciting opportunity to merge my academic expertise with a profound commitment to professional, skill, and brand development. I look forward to contributing to meaningful research that not only highlights challenges but also drives actionable change in the tech landscape for groups who possess unimaginable and untapped talent and potential to create innovative strategies, products, and businesses that address some of society’s most pressing needs and challenges.
