Exciting Addition to Dr. Wilson’s Research Team: Welcoming Madisen Ung

Dr. Karis K. Wilson is thrilled to announce the hiring and onboarding of Madisen Ung as the newest member of her research team.



Madisen, an undergraduate student from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, is pursuing a B.S. in Media, Culture, and Communication. Her diverse background and expertise are set to significantly enhance the team’s capabilities and research outcomes.


Social Entrepreneurship: Offering innovative approaches to solving social problems through entrepreneurial principles.


* E-commerce Experience: Providing insights from her work with an e-commerce company, including building out the content creative part of their business.


Communication and Content Creation: Leveraging her background in the creator economy and team collaboration.


Non-Profit Management: Bringing valuable insights into managing and operating non-profit organizations.


*Copywriting and Content Writing: Utilizing skills in engaging with and creating content for a company’s website, including mission/vision statements and product descriptions.

Project Management: Ensuring efficient and effective project execution.


Film History Knowledge: Contributing to the understanding of media and its evolution.


Madisen’s unique skill set will be instrumental in aiding Dr. Wilson’s research program, particularly in exploring the modern era and digital revolution of content creation and distribution. Her understanding of the American legal system and penal infrastructure also adds a critical dimension to the team’s research endeavors.


This undergraduate research hiring initiative not only enhances the academic experience for students at NYU but also adds a valuable credentialing dimension. Moreover, this endeavor contributes to networking and partnerships development, preparing students for careers in industry or academia through hands-on learning opportunities, early career job roles, and exposure to real-world challenges.
